Palo Verde Workshop w/ Martha Burgess (Recorded Video) $25
In this hour long video, recorded at Mission Garden, ethnobotanist Martha Burgess explores the three species of palo verde that grow locally in the Tucson area. You will learn how to identify, harvest and prepare palo verde in a variety of ways.

Fig Workshop w/ Martha Burgess
(Recorded Video) $25
This accessible video class is a great way to learn about the figs that can be grown here in Tucson and the greater Sonoran Desert. Martha Burgess explores the botanical characteristics of several varieties of figs found at the garden, nutritional aspects of figs, and culinary uses. Learn more & purchase
Lime Hydrosol Workshop w/ Martha Burgess (Recorded Video) $25
Hydrosols are gently fragrant, water-based distillations that can be used in refreshing sprays, cosmetics, and aromatherapies. Using Mission Garden’s fragrant Mexican sweet lime fruits, this class teaches you principles and methods for making a hydrosol.

Hands-on Archaeology
Allen Denoyer of Archaeology Southwest will again do Hands-on Archaeology programs on the fourth Saturday of each month at Mission Garden. This month it will be throwing spears with atl-atls (spear throwers). Allen is an expert preservation archaeologist, specializing in learning how ancient technologies like atl-atls, arrowheads, and ground stone were made and used. This event is ideal for children. How to Eat Weeds: A Class at Mission Garden
$35 - Peggy Sue Sorensen and Mike Clow will lead a plant walk through the garden to show and sample the edible plants that are commonly called weeds. Afterwards, they will give a PowerPoint presentation to further explain the summer weeds and to learn about the cool weather weeds that will soon be popping up in the garden. They will bring some Mallow chips and Purslane pickles for sampling. Please join us for this unique opportunity to understand our gardens better and to incorporate healthy, and FREE, plants into our diets! (Click on the Purslane plants to LEARN MORE, register & pay)
