Learn to cook Chinese vegetable dishes with chef Jin Ting Gow. This class will make vegetarian dishes with the kinds of vegetables Mission Garden grows in its Chinese Garden plot. The dishes will draw from crops such as bok choy, Chinese mustard, daikon radish, daikon greens, cilantro, snow peas, goji leaves, garlic chives, dried jujube, and wintermelon.
Chinese farmers have been growing both commercial crops and Chinese garden vegetables in Tucson since the late 1800s. There were Chinese restaurants in Tucson before the turn of the century. So Jin Ting Gow is part of a long history of Chinese cooking in Tucson. Become a part of this tradition by signing up for this class now. Enrollment is limited to 20 people.
