Raquel Denis

Raquel Denis (she/they) is the part-time Office Administrator at Mission Garden. She's grateful to be a part of the vibrant Mission Garden community and to bring her diverse skill set to support its work! Raquel has a variegated background in public service, arts administration and arts/museum education with additional experience in community farming, gardening and community organizing. She holds a BA in Creative Writing (Poetry) and has a dedicated arts practice as a singer-songwriter, musician and poet.

In 2022, she moved to Oracle, Arizona to live with the historic Rancho Linda Vista artist community and currently serves on their arts nonprofit board. In 2023 Raquel moved to Tucson, Arizona and is part of a wonderful community of artists, gardeners and community workers. Raquel comes from a large blended family from a barrio in Phoenix. Her lineage is based in central Mexico and the Caribbean Islands (Puerto Rico and Haiti) and she speaks both Spanish and English.

Raquel loves the land, community and creativity. She's friendly and would love you to say hi when you see her around the garden!
