Pierre Landau, originally from NYC, started visiting Tucson in the early 1980s and moved here in the early 1990s. He is a first-generation American, from a French family, who traveled frequently between the two countries and ended his high-school years in Paris. During and after receiving his PhD in computer science, he worked for a number of years at NYU’s Brain Research Labs, and developed monitoring devices to assist with neurosurgery, as well as working in community gardens on the Lower East Side of NYC. In Tucson, he worked in electronic publishing (Astrophysics Journal), and wireless and satellite communications. Additionally, he currently works with a number of startups in the medical device field. He is interested in sustainable development, ecology and the multicultural mix that is so vital to Mission Garden.
