Lisa Grenier

Originally from Ohio, Lisa has lived in Tucson for 25 years. Before landing at Mission Garden, Lisa enjoyed a career at Pima Community College Adult Education where she taught basic skills (Reading, Writing, Math, and ESL).

In 2021, Lisa retired and began volunteering at Mission Garden. As a plant-lover, enthusiastic cook, and eager student of folkways, the work of Mission Garden fit Lisa’s interests and skills perfectly. In June of 2022, Lisa transitioned from being a volunteer to an AmeriCorps position at the garden.

In her AmeriCorps term, Lisa plans to expand the commercial kitchen’s role in the garden. Through both sales in the gift shop and regular food tasting events, Lisa hopes to introduce more people to the heritage produce grown at the garden and to form bridges between Tucsonans. If you are looking for Lisa, you are likely to find her either in the garden harvesting produce or in the kitchen whipping up some tasty recipes.
