Hands-on Archaeology with Allen Denoyer–Flintknapping

  • 946 W. Mission Lane Tucson United States (map)

Allen Denoyer, a Preservation Archaeologist with Archaeology Southwest, demonstrates flintknapping. He will be turning stone into arrowheads and knives before your eyes! Join him at the pithouse in the Youth Garden for this amazing learning opportunity. Our Hands-on Archaeology presentations are a collaboration with Archaeology Southwest, a non-profit dedicated to preserving and learning from archaeological resources in the Southwest U.S. At these events, Allen describes and demonstrates a variety of traditional technologies and techniques. (This event was rescheduled from March 27th to the 20th.) Watch for more Hands-on Archaeology events at Mission Garden, generally the fourth Saturday of the month.
