Buffelgrass Pull

Please join us for an all out buffelgrass beating! You will be joined by members of the Tucson Verde and Presidio Rotary Clubs, and you'll be led by Vianey Avila, buffelgrass specialist at the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum.

This will be an opportunity to learn to identify the worst non-native, invasive plant in our region and remove it. We'll be working outside the garden wall on the south and west sides, where buffelgrass is thriving due to summer rains.

Come to Mission Garden between 7:30am and 8:00am to get signed in, oriented, get gloved up. We'll get started at 8am and we can go until 11am. We'll have a water station and refreshments. Bring refillable water bottle, wear hat, closed-toed shoes, long pants, long sleeves recommended. Gloves are available. Park at our service entrance off Grande Road just south of the garden and meet inside the service gate near the Education Building, in the southwest corner of the garden.
