Archaeology Day

Every Fourth Saturday of the month
At Mission Garden, in the Youth Garden
This event is FREE. All gifts are appreciated.

On our monthly (fourth Saturday) Archaeology Day representatives of Tucson's archaeology community come to Mission Garden to teach practical hands-on skills. Allen Denoyer of Archaeology Southwest will be doing their Hands-on Archaeology program. It allows kids of all ages to try out fascinating ancient technologies. It might be etching shell, or painting with natural pigments, or throwing spears with atl-atls. Old Pueblo Archaeology Center is also represented on these fourth Saturday events, also presenting interactive programs about things like pinch pots, pendants, cordage, and petroglyphs. Come join in any time between 8am and 1pm.
