As the Intern Curatorial Assistant and Seed Specialist, Khusan Jumaboev helps manage Mission Garden's vital collection of heritage seeds and desert-adapted crops. Originally from Uzbekistan, Khusan brings a deep, personal appreciation for the rich history and traditions of global agriculture, working alongside the curatorial team to meticulously document, process, and propagate seeds.

Khusan is currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Agribusiness Economics and Management at the University of Arizona. He enjoys blending the economic principles of food systems with the hands-on conservation work in the field, dedicating his efforts to improving the long-term viability and accessibility of the garden’s seed bank. He is passionate about the resilience of native desert plants and loves connecting the community with the history and living heritage they represent, finding parallels between Tucson's agricultural past and the ancient farming traditions of Central Asia.
